Friends of Army Aviation Heads to the National Peanut Festival Grounds

This will be the 6th year for our Dothan Remembers event and we are excited to continue the tradition offering rides in our UH-1H Huey helicopter. This year in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam War we will be joining forces with the largest Traveling Vietnam Wall and moving our event to the National Peanut Festival grounds.

All minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied on the ride by a parent or legal guardian. Children 16-17 may ride alone with a parent or legal guardian’s written permission.
Helicopter ride tickets may be purchased either online or at the ride event. Online tickets may be purchased up to 1 day prior to the event. After this point, online sales will not be available and will indicate that tickets are not available. However, tickets may still be purchased at the ride event.
- Onsite Tickets: Tickets may be purchased at the ride event using cash or credit card. Please purchase your ticket not later than 2 hours prior to the published end of the event time.
- Online tickets: Purchasing online does not have an assigned time or seat. Tickets are good for 1 ride on the day of the ride event. You must arrive not later than 12 pm to be processed for the ride. Online ticket sales are not available the day of the ride event.
- Check flight times: Once you have been processed you will be given a color-coded wrist band along with a number (example Royal Blue 10). On our website, using the tab labeled “TIMES” and you can check your flight schedule for your show time, briefing time and your flight takeoff time. With this information we ask that you be at our designated briefing tent not later than 30 minutes prior to your scheduled briefing time. Please check our website “times” tab as the times are updated as flights takeoff.
September 9th in Dothan, AL 9:00 AM until 5:30 PM – The aircraft will remain onsite for rides based on demand. The event is subject to end earlier than 5:30pm if there is no interest from the community.
