2021 Armed Forces Day Celebration

Friends of Army Aviation and Troy University are hosting the 2021 Armed Forces Day Celebration at the Troy Dothan campus. We have a day filled with cool activities for young and older alike.
What’s happening on May 15th? We are thrilled to have representatives from the various branches of our Armed Forces join us for this special celebration. They will be recognized at a very short program which will be followed by the round canopy jumpers.
Round Canopy Parachuting Team – USA (RCPT-USA) out of Palatka, FL. This group performs round canopy commemorative airborne demonstrations to increase awareness and educate the public about the sacrifices and heroism of Allied Paratroopers from WWII onward. Come early so you won’t miss this!
A Co 1-9 1st Air Cav Division Vietnam Reenactment is a living history group that portrays Alpha company 1st battalion 9th regiment 1st Air Cav Division. Between the years of 1968-1969 in Vietnam as a FSB Firebase Stephens for Camp Evans. Our group is also affiliated with the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation as we are an Air Cav unit. Our goal is to bring Honor to those who served in the Vietnam War and educate the population with hands on and visual impressions. We Are located in Florida from the Northwest to Central south.
Just a few other highlights for the day – SE Community Band, recruiters from different branches of the military, face-painting for the kids, our traveling Aviation Museum – and rides in our UH-1H Huey helicopter.
