For more than 50 years, the UH-1 Huey helicopter has held a special place in the hearts of Vietnam Veterans who knew its iconic and unmistakable sound meant help was on the way.  Experience those sounds for yourself and feel the wind as we fly with the doors open, and gain a greater appreciation for this warbird and its role on the battlefield.

    Come experience the Sound of Freedom as you fly in a piece of living history.  You won’t find velvet ropes and Do Not Touch signs with us.  Climb aboard, feel the vibration and the wind in your face  as we take to the skies in our flying museum!

    Our Purpose

    • Educate the American public about the contributions Army Aviation has provided on the battlefield.
    • Support the families and friends of Soldiers who have given the ultimate sacrifice in support of freedom around the world.
    • Inspire young people to consider a career in aviation and to honor our Soldiers’ service, both past and present.
    • Restore, maintain and preserve authentic legacy Army aircraft used in combat operations and to provide the general public the opportunity to ride in and experience some of the same sights and sounds as those of a combat veteran.

    As time passes, the history and legacy of the American Soldier fades into distant memory. The contributions made by these patriotic Americans should not be lost.  

    The ability to keep these accomplishments alive is paramount in our mission.  Preserving the rich history of Army Aviation and providing the public the opportunity to fully appreciate the contributions made by these legacy aircraft, and the men who flew them,  in support of the soldier on the ground, ensures the memory will live on for future generations.
